Sharavathi Wildlife Sanctuary, Shimoga district

Sharavathi Wildlife Sanctuary along the Sharavathi river near Jog Falls is part of the the Western Ghats and the river basin was declared as a wildlife sanctuary to protect the rare species of flora and fauna including endangered lion tailed macaque, Malabar giant squirrel,king cobra and melanistic Indian leopard.

Kali Tiger Reserve, Uttara Kannada district

Kali Tiger Reserve is located in Uttara Kannada district and the famous Kali River flows through the protected area, which is habitat of black panthers, Indian leopards, Bengal tigers, Indian bison, and Indian elephants.

The park was earlier known as Dandeli Anshi Tiger reserve and home to several rarely seen wild animals of India such as the black panther, Northern plains gray langur, Gray slender loris, leopard cat, Muntjac or barking deer and mouse deer or Chevrotain.
