The Sentinel series from TM Yukon is a model range of sights for night hunting on the first-generation image intensifier. In this article we will consider the most powerful of them – Sentinel 3×60.
This device has the largest diameter of the lens, which allows it to give the most clear and contrast image at great distances in the weakest light due to increased light.
The optics of the sight makes it possible to give a threefold visual approximation, which is considered the most convenient. At large magnification values, it becomes impossible to aim out due to the trembling of the hands, with smaller values, the target is not clearly visible.
The 60mm lens allows you to collect more light, which directly affects the quality and contrast of the picture. The increased light-intensifier along with the clarified optics is the guarantee of a qualitative detailed image, as a result, the increased accuracy of shooting and the amount of extraction.
Built-in IR illumination
The sight is distinguished by the presence of a built-in laser IR illuminator, which, in conditions of complete darkness or very low illumination, allows not only to see the target, but also to increase the observation range. The backlight focuses from scattered light to the collected beam and can be applied at different distances. The wavelength of 805 nm is almost invisible to the naked eye and does not lead to the unmasking of the hunter.
Like all products from Yukon Advanced Optics Worldwide, the Sentinel 3×60 is built from the latest and highest quality materials. The ergonomic and comfortable body is made of titanium, one of the most durable and light metals, which is not afraid of moisture, falls, wear and temperature changes. The degree of protection of the sight is IPX4. Despite the first-generation image intensifier, which is afraid of shock loads, the device can be installed on rifled weapons with muzzle energy 3700 Joules.
Even with an enlarged lens, the weight of the sight does not exceed 1000 g. This is important for any shooter, since any overload results in imbalance of the weapon and makes it difficult to aim.
All buttons are located on the right, which is very convenient. Management of all functions is carried out by only three keys. The lens focusing drum allows you to quickly adjust the optics, and at a mark of 100 meters it “sticks”, which is also very convenient.
Low battery indication
One set of batteries is enough for a day with the infrared lamp on, or for 70 hours with the backlight turned off. Nevertheless, Sentinel 3 to 60 is equipped with an indicator that shows the degree of charge using a two-color LED.
