Bream – one of the most desirable trophies for anglers. Catch it from spring to autumn with different tackles – donks, feeder, float fishing rod. But there is one simple snap on a bream, which can give a head start on catchability to everyone else.
It is called a ring. This tackle allows you to catch in those places where you can not throw at any float or bottom fishing rod. And as you know, where there are fewer anglers, there are more fish. They catch it mainly on large rivers, such as the Oka, Volga, Don and others.
What is a tackle ring
The ring is a sinker in the form, oddly enough, rings, with a diameter of 40-60 mm. There is an eye on the ring where the anti-twist tube with a leash and hooks is attached. The sinker can be made independently or bought in the store. The main feature of the tooling is the presence of a slot or kerf on the ring. Thanks to this kerf, when hooking, the ring is safely released from the fishing line and does not interfere with the drawing of fish.
The mass of the ring depends on the strength of the flow. A powerful current bends a fishing line into an arc, which makes it difficult to adjust the nod. Therefore, in order to feel the bottom well, you need a ring of the appropriate mass. The stronger the stream, the heavier the ring should be.
The rigging of an egg is a type of ring and is also used for fishing from a boat in a current. It is considered more convenient rigging than the ring, since it is easier to jump off the rope when hooking and the risk of tangling gear becomes minimal. It looks like this. On a steel wire as a pin, two metal balls are attached. The balls are tightly pressed together, but when the effort is easily separated from each other. Eggs can be made independently or bought in the store.
The main elements of the gear ring are:
- Mesh feeder with bait inside. The feeder has an additional burden in the form of a flat sinker. The size of the load is selected under the force of the current. The feeder is attached to a thick fishing line or a nylon cord and sinks to the bottom. The bait, gradually washing out of the feeder, attracts a flock of bream.
- Short side fishing rod with a spring nod. To the fishing rod is attached equipment, consisting of a sinker in the form of a ring and a long leash with several hooks. The ring has a special side slot. When hooking the ring is easily separated from the cord.
The main condition for catching a ring is the presence of a current in the place of catching. In still water to catch bream on this tackle will not work. The fact is that the fish are attracted by the path from the feed, which is formed when the bait is washed out of the feeder. In stagnant water, the bait simply does not wash out, and the porridge quickly sours, especially in summer.
Well, another condition – fishing is conducted from a boat. It is from a boat that you can get to the most fishy places that are far from the coast. In such places there is often no big fishing pressure and the fish feels safe.
The depth in the place of fishing should be at least 5 meters, since in small depths the bream sees a boat with an angler and is on the alert. But if the water in the river is turbid, then fishing is possible at shallower depths.
Troughs for snap ring
The most common form of trough for ring fishing is mesh. Such feeders are usually made of metal wire, at least – from plastic and rope. But each angler has his own opinion of what shape the feed box should be. Still, it is better to use troughs of a spherical and cylindrical shape, since they have a larger area of leaching of feed than conical.
It is necessary that the feeder can hold about 3-6 kg of bait. This is enough for fishing for 4 hours on the middle course. Feeding is the most important stage at. The feeder is stuffed as follows. First, put a heavy load on the bottom of the feeder. This is usually a flat metal sinker, but sometimes, in the absence of it, stones are also placed. Next laid the bait. The basis of bait is different types of porridge (millet, peas, pearl barley, rolled oats). Often together with porridge in the bait add pieces of crackers.
Selection of fishing rods, reels and a nod for ring fishing
For catching on the ring used short side fishing rods with throughput rings and reel seat. The choice of rod depends on the depth at the place of fishing and the power of the current. Rod length usually does not exceed one meter. Longer fishing rods are inconvenient to catch from a small boat. The main qualities of an onboard fishing rod for fishing for bream are the rigidity of the whip.
The greater the depth at the fishing spot, the more rigid the fishing rod should be. For example, when fishing at depths of about 20 meters, the rod must have a very hard whip, otherwise it will not be possible to cut the fish well. And at a depth of 10 meters will be enough rods of medium hardness. Buy a fishing rod in the store or do it yourself depends on the angler.
The size and type of reel for ring fishing is not so important, unlike the characteristics of a side fishing rod. The reel is not such an important element in this gear, such as when fishing for spinning or feeder. Here the main function of the coil is to lower the bait to the bottom, much less often to raise it to the surface. After hooking, the angler often pulls the line with his hands, as during winter fishing. But nevertheless there are fishermen who prefer to put the fish out only with a coil. It all depends on personal preference. Therefore, the coil will fit any – inertia-free, inertial, multiplicative.
For fishing on the ring used spring nod. The spring should be tough enough so that when fishing on a wave or in strong winds, parasitic oscillations are not transmitted to the nod.
You can buy a nod in the store or make it yourself. The length of the spring should be about 10 centimeters. At the end of the gatehouse, you can put a ball of bright foam, so that you can clearly see the bite bites.
Choice of fishing line, leads and hooks for snap ring
Since fishing is conducted from a boat, the thickness of the main line does not play a big role. But for convenience during vyvazhivaniya, it is better to use fishing lines with a diameter of 0.35 to 0.5 mm, because the thick fishing line will not mess up much in the boat. The number of reeled fishing line depends on the depth of fishing. On average, 50 meters of fishing line with excess is enough for one fishing rod.
Typically, the diameter of the leash varies from 0.20 to 0.30 mm. Its thickness depends on the activity of the fish. When capricious kleve can reduce the diameter of the leash and vice versa.
The length of the leash – from 1 to 3 meters. On the leash tie podpaski with hooks. The number of podpaskov on a leash – from 2 to 5 pieces.
The shape of the hook for fishing on the ring is chosen for a particular nozzle. When fishing on a worm, hooks with a long forearm and side notches will work well, thanks to which the bait will not slip from the hook.
When fishing on vegetable baits, such as corn or barley, the hook handguard should be less long.
You shouldn’t become shallow with hook sizes, as fishing is far from the coast and large specimens weighing 2 kg or more are often caught. The optimal hook size is from 6 to 8 numbers according to international numbering.
How to make a snap ring yourself
You can make a snap ring with your own hands and it does not take much time. In addition to fishing line, for the installation of equipment we will need:
- Tube counter-twist. She needed to hooks do not cling to the trough.
- Lock bead.
- Leash length of 1-3 meters with hooks attached to it on the subpacings.
We pass the main line through the counter-twist, starting from the short side.
Next, we dress the lock bead on the fishing line. The bead must be free to move along the fishing line, and its diameter must be greater than the diameter of the tube.
We fasten swivel to the line. By swiveling the method of a loop in a loop we tie a leash with hooks.
The tube has a special fastener on which we attach the ring. The rig is ready.
How to tie on a leash podpaski with hooks:
- Take a lead length of 2-3 meters.
- Retreat from the length of the leash about 50 centimeters. You do not need to make too small a distance between the sub-hemmers, otherwise there is a high probability that when hooking out the hook squeals into your hand.
- Knit the first sub-pack. Then again, retreat 50 centimeters and knit the second sub-tusk. And so on. The optimal number of hooks on a leash length of 3 meters – 5 pieces.
How to catch a ring
Choosing a place, put the boat across the stream and anchor. Catching begins with the need to feed the catch point. The feeder with bait is attached to a kapron cord or a thick fishing line, 0.8-1 mm thick. As a reel for the cord is convenient to use a large inertial reel type “Neva”.
After we have fixed the feeder, we lower it to the bottom of the river and then we tie the cord to the boat. A filled bait feeder lasts for 3-4 hours of fishing. Remove the reel to the side so as not to interfere.
We are preparing our fishing rods. One feeder is required for one bait. Anglers rarely use more than two gear, as there is little space in the boat. On the hooks we set the bait. The main nozzle when fishing on a ring is a bunch of worms. But also other nozzles are used – maggots, bloodworms, corn, barley. Some anglers use flavored foam when fishing for bream.
Next, fasten the sinker-ring on the cord with the feeder and lower the sinker with leads to the bottom. Adjust the position of the nod. Everything, our equipment on bream is ready to work, it remains to wait for a bite.
Feeder fishing is strongly associated with coastal fishing for many people. But the presence of a boat opens up new opportunities for the angler. With it, you can catch in places to which you can not reach from the shore. And this means that there is no fishing pressure here and there is a high probability of catching a lot of large and fat bream. This is especially true in the fall, when fish gather in large flocks and move far from the shore.
This method of catching is more sporting than catching a ring. But he has his drawbacks – it is the waves, the wind, as well as the narrowness in the boat. Because of the waves during the day, it’s not really that good. But as you know, the bream basically pecks in the morning and in the evening, at this time there are either no waves or they are small.
It is better to collect the rod and rigging in advance, on the shore, since it is not particularly convenient to do this in a boat. As for the choice of the feeder, short rods are preferable to long ones. Since the angler is located directly above the point of fishing, long-range casting is not required. In addition, a short fishing rod is more convenient to put out the bream and landing net with a long hand is not required.
But the choice of the rod class depends on the flow and depth. It is clear that when fishing on a river at a depth of 10 meters and on a strong current, it will be problematic to catch a picker or lightt feeder. Well, on the lake or reservoir such rods, on the contrary, will fall just right. So it all depends on the specific place of fishing.
As for bait and bait, there is no difference with the coastal feeder. Used all the same porridge and purchased bait. In summer, bream is well caught on both animal and vegetable baits, as well as on boilies. In the spring and autumn, he prefers only animal bait. Therefore, it is better to have as many different types of baits as possible with you in order to surely guess the bream preferences at a particular point in time.
The process of fishing from a boat is no different from fishing from the shore. The same feeder equipment for bream is used: paternoster, symmetric and asymmetrical loop, and other types of snap-ins.
